It would always cost you...





Since we are still in the spirit of christmas,
let me share with us what I learnt in church yesterday.
Luke 1

When God told Zechariah that he and Elizabeth would have children,  Zechariah said " how would this happen", " my wife and I are old ". He didn't believe.  He asked this question in doubt.

One thing about doubt is that it doesn't stop God from doing what he wants to do. Your doubt will only cost you.

When Zechariah doubted,  it cost him his voice.  Since he didn't believe,  the angel told him he wouldn't be able to speak.  Can you imagine how it must have felt for Zechariah to see his long awaited promise, form in front of his eyes,  yet he couldn't say anything about it.  Or when the baby was born,  he couldn't say how much love and joy he had in his heart.

When it was time for the baby to be named, the people wanted to name the baby afer Zechariah because that was the tradition. But Elizabeth said no. So the people asked Zechariah and he asked for a paper and wrote his name is John.

With that simple act of believe, when doubt was eliminated, he gained his speech. So what he could have enjoyed was taken away because of his unbelief.

Mary, the mother of Jesus on the other hand,  was told by an angel that she was going to be pregnant without meeting a man. She asked out of amazement,  how can I have a baby,  I am still a virgin.  She didn't disbelief.  Even though she didn't know how God was going to do it, she told him to do it anyway.

When God wanted to destroy the world,  he told Noah to warn the people,  but they doubted and didn't believe.  When God sent down the storm,  it cost them their lives.

Doubt,  disbelief  and lack of faith would always cost you,  but it doesn't stop God from doing what he wants to do.  But then the weight of what it would cost you differs.

Whatever you are doing,  as far as God is involved,  it doesn't matter how he is going to do it,  Just believe him anyway! Let him do it anyway!

If God had no TIME.....

I saw this poem,  and it struck me to share I knelt to pray but not for long I had to much to do as the year ends I had to hurry and get to work For bills that would soon be due So I knelt down and said a hurried prayer And jumped up off my knees My Christian duty was now done My soul could now rest at ease All day long I had no time To spread a word of cheer No time to speak of Christ to friends They'd laugh at me I'd fear 2016 ending!  No time,  no time,  too much to do That was my constant cry But at last the time,  the time to die I went before the Lord I came;  I stood with downcast eyes For in his hands God held a book It was the book of life God looked into his Book and said "Your name I cannot find. The Chronicles of Acts 4....

The chronicles of Acts 4 The fact that people are persecuted because of the Gospel,  isn't something new. When you are talking about a higher power or a higher authority,  people who can't do anything about it, because that thing is higher than them,  yet they don't want to come under it's authority,  would look for ways to stop you. No matter how the people want to stop Gods word from manifesting,  Gods word always gets delivered to whoever it is sent. Acts 4:4. Through the arrest of Peter and John,  there was an opportunity for the message of God to be spread directly to the members of the council.  Acts 4:12-13. In the case of Peter and John,  they we're arrested.  That might not be the case in the world of today.  You might get humiliated and disgraced,  but know that no matter their schemes,  Gods authority surpasses them all.
