In God's shoes...... Part 7 (Finale) Obedience

Image
As funny as a coincidence is, today is the last day of the month and the last day of the series "In God's shoes". When your juniors at work don't obey your instructions, how do you feel? When your children don't obey your laid down rules, how do you feel? When you don't obey your own set instructions, how do you feel? All these scenarios could make us get mad. As humans, we don't like it when people disobey us. The same thing applies to God. He has given us laid down  and we chose to disobey them. "Do not kill"; some of us will be like 'I Don't even have a gun, so how would I kill someone'. It is not until you have a gun before you kill a person. Some of us have killed people with our eyes and mouths without realizing it. "Do Not Lie"; there is nothing like a small lie or a big lie or a white lie. All lies are disobedient. Some of us don't even know these commandments because we don't read the word.

In God's shoes Part 6..... What do you see

Image
What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror. What do you see when you see your shadow through your phone screen. What do you see when you look at your car mirror. What do you see when you walk past that shop built with glass. What do you see? What do you see? Only if we looked at ourselves through God's eyes Only if we could know how important we are to God Only if we had God's eyes Only If..... There is this song that explains it all. It is Bishop Paul S. Morton titled "I am what you see" Help me to see me the way You see me sometimes I see pain Lord when You see victory I see where I am Lord You see where I shall be open my eyes, help me believe I am what You see You see me victorious You see me faithful You see me believing that You are able You see me rejoicing cause I have survived open my eyes, help me believe I am what You see I am healed, I am free I am what You see Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," decla

In God's shoes..... Contentment Part 5

Image
I wish I had more, I deserve to have more, I am meant to have more, I mean I need more............. Contentment, a very key thing in life and a word with much power that it can make a person or break a person. To be content is to have this satisfaction within you, been at ease with what you have and what you do. The reason why most people commit crime today is not because they were forced to or they didn't have a choice but lack of contentment. They want to bite more than they can chew. When you are satisfied with what you have, you've got everything to live for, because you know that what you have is the best, so you don't have to die inside been covetous of what others have. This bible passage struck me so much and it is all you need to know about contentment. Philippians 4:11-13 (King James Version) 11  Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12  I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. E

In God's shoes...... Fear Part 4

Image
It's the fourth day of shoe testing. How has it been so far! Imagine you work for the strongest security system, yet your kid is scared of an ant. You keep on reassuring your kid not to be scared that you've got their back,  but they keep on been scared. You won't feel happy about it. You would try to tell them not to worry but it just doesn't work out. This same scenario applies to us in our daily lives when we live in fear. We are scared of every little thing like reaching out for that opportunity,  starting that business, developing that relationship,  taking that risk. It often times skips our minds that we have a God who has assured us not to fear because he is with us Isaiah 41:10. We forget that we have a God that told us to be of good courage or the reminder in Jeremiah 1:8 "be not afraid of their faces...." Taking a walk! Let's face our fears. God bless you!

In God's Shoes....... Part 3 Faithfulness a virtue

Image
Good evening!!!! It's another day to take a walk in God's shoes....... In all facet of all, everywhere we go, nobody wants an unfaithful fellow. let's take a few scenarios 1. You are the human resource manager of a company. Your job is to hire people. This means the future of the company is in your hands, because the kind of people you hire would either make the company or mar the company. You wouldn't want to make a mistake, so you would chose carefully. 2. You are a very busy woman. You have a kid, but you have to go to work. So you get a nanny. You would want a great nanny who wouldn't arm your kid but care for your kid 3. You are in a relationship. You would want a loyal partner, one who wouldn't cheat on you. One who would share the same views with you. Looking at all these examples, one common quality on the look out is faithfulness. This is applicable in our daily lives. we all want to deal with faithful people. We don't want people wh

In God's shoes part 2 ...... love

Hope you all enjoyed yesterday's introduction. Today, the series would be continued.... Am going to use this song "have you ever" as a case study. Have you ever loved somebody so much It makes you cry Have you ever needed something so bad You can't sleep at night Have you ever tried to find the words But they don't come out right Have you ever, have you ever Have you ever been in love Been in love so bad You'd do anything to make them understand Have you ever had someone steal your heart away You'd give anything to make them feel the same Have you ever searched for words to get you in their heart But you don't know what to say And you don't know where to start  Have you ever found the one You've dreamed of all of your life Just about anything to look into their eyes Have you finally found the one you've given your heart to Only to find that one won't give their heart to you Have you ever closed your eyes and

Series.... "In God's shoes" Part 1

It's been a while right! I know. So back to business...... It's a new week and Monday morning to top it all. Everyone going to work trying to beat the traffic, but we thank God for the success of the previous week Now. let's think for a minute, If we looked at God in the eyes of Men, that is "If God Was Man" A story: There is this friend of yours. You guys do almost everything together, talk together, eat together and so on. In fact it's like anything that's yours also belongs to that friend. That kind of relationship. Then one day, you had an outing and there is this purse you would like to rock for that outing, but you couldn't find it. You looked all around for that purse and then asked your friend. Your friend then said she didn't see it. You were like "okay, maybe i dropped it somewhere, will find it when i get back" and then you took another purse. But mind you, the previous purse matched your outfit perfectly. Your friend al

Just because it's the LAW

Image
For today I will be talking about something that most people don't even know exists. 1st Corinthians 10:23 All things are LAWFUL for me, but all things are not HELPFUL; all things are LAWFUL for me, but all things do not EDIFY. This is a bittersweet scenario. this happens in our everyday lives. we believe just because something is made the law it is right. The laws are created by humans and as far as they don't go in line with the Word of God which is the ultimate law, it is WRONG. Don't be mistaken, on the day of Judgement, the law would be rendered useless. The law would deny you. You can't even blame it on something that would be out of existence as of that time. The Bible says it clearly that just because something is the law, doesn't make it right. So do not be deceived. Work out your salvation with Fear and Trembling, for how long the law will last is uncertain. I am not saying be disobedient to the law. No, don't get me wrong. You ca

TIME- Doesn't discriminate!!!

Image
Time is EVERYTHING!!!! It's a happy Tuesday here with the sun at its climax yet the wind is keeping us in check. But never mind the fact that even if the sun is hot, it can't be sunny at night. What I am saying is that there is time for everything. It is normal for there to be a time when a child is born and when the person dies. it is normal for     there to be a time when a plant sprouts up and when the plant dries up It is normal for there to be a time when you break down and when you build up. Time is one very important thing that cannot be altered no matter how hard you try. Time it self is a gift God gave to all humanity accordingly. Nobody has more time than the other. We all have the same 24 hours. But the different unequal thing is how we spend our time. How we spend our time defines us. Time is no respecter of person. When you can't plan your time well, you are planning to fail. Don't Just wake up every morning and just do what life throws at y

Self Control

Happy Sunday guys!!. Today, I will be writing about what I learnt in church today. I learnt about the fruit of the spirit called Self control. In other bible versions, it can also be called temperance or control over desires. Now, Let's turn into the scriptures Gal 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (NIV) In our daily lives, we have needs and wants. sometimes we step into a grocery store and even buy things that we really don't need. Sometimes we see them and we are like "I don't need this" or " I didn't plan for it". Other times, we are like "let me buy it, it shouldn't hurt". so we really need self control in our day to day activities. The ability to put your desires under check is self control. One interesting thing about self control is that you need it more in difficult situations. Self cont
